Attackers altered files on AOMEI's update servers in windows of five to ten minutes between May and July 2026 to push a backdoor to Backupper installs. AOMEI has reported fixing its servers, but the researchers say that does not remove the backdoor from machines already hit.

A DEV Community post explains AWS Lambda Web Functions, which run a plain Node.js HTTP server, and when to use them instead of event-handler Lambdas

AWS Lambda Web Functions let an ordinary Node.js HTTP server run on Lambda, listening on the port in AWS_LAMBDA_HTTP_ENDPOINT, a DEV Community post says. The author says it does not replace event-handler Lambdas and tested it with a streaming agent and simulated high-traffic services.

Defender flags the exe in a rea-tools copy of the REA repo

According to a GitHub issue on REA, a fake rea-tools repo offered a Windows exe that 8 of 45 VirusTotal engines flag, with 172 downloads. The copy shipped a binary and no npm package was reported, so the npx risk is a next-attack scenario; two checks on repo name and creation dates would have caught this one.
