Apple's operating system for Apple TV devices, powering its interface, apps, and media streaming features.
Apple will bring its Siri AI beta to second- and third-generation Apple TV 4K boxes with tvOS 27.2, sparing owners the new $299 model. Personal context still depends on the home owner's compatible iPhone or iPad.
Reality
Apple's tvOS 27.2 beta 3 holds Apple Intelligence code that 9to5Mac and MacRumors expect to reach only a new Apple TV, due as soon as October 13. Going by the code, anyone buying an Apple TV this week gets a box that keeps the Siri it has today.
Reality
Apple's second 27.2 public betas are the same builds developers got a day earlier as beta 3. Testers can use what is visible now, but the Apple TV 4K and HomePod features in the code stay hidden until Apple announces them.
Reality
Apple released beta 3 of iPadOS, watchOS, tvOS and visionOS 27.2 two weeks after beta 2, with new iOS and macOS builds alongside. The Health changes can be tested now, while Apple has not said what tvOS and visionOS add, and those changes may wait on rumored hardware.
Reality
References to Faces, a Face Gallery and HomeAccessory_wall put a display-bearing HomePod in code Apple shipped itself. That resets the floor for anyone building home hubs.
Reality
Bloomberg's Mark Gurman says Apple is rearranging store Avenues and adding accessory bays this fall. Fixtures are paid for in advance, which is why the schedule tell is credible.
