Guest VMs can read host memory through Linux kernel flaw PwnEscape

Linux kernel flaw CVE-2026-99999 let pwn.ai's Paulos Yibelo read about 32 bytes of host memory per packet from Vercel's production sandboxes. Operators who host other people's VMs need the fix in the kernel the host itself runs.

An ordinary SharePoint login is enough to exploit the KEV-listed CVE-2026-65660

CVE-2026-65660, an exploited SharePoint Server code injection flaw rated 8.8, lets any user with a low-privilege login run code on the farm. Farms that admit vendors and contractors need to count who can sign in, alongside what faces the internet.

UMass Amherst measured 61,500 dead Android IoT companion apps and found 38.4% of their data flows point at servers that are unreachable, blocklisted or under new ownership, against under 1% in maintained apps.

Exploitation of software flaws tops Verizon's 2026 intrusion list, up 31% year over year

An SC Media commentary builds its case from Verizon's 2026 breach data, JPMorgan's patch arithmetic and Endor Labs dependency counts. Every figure reaches operators secondhand, and the ratio of disclosed to patched is the one that survives the discount.

Cloudflare turns OpenAI's cyber model into WAF rules that wait on human approval

The early-access service reads live traffic to work out which findings matter, then produces a scoped firewall rule and a draft patch for review, so the mitigation is what actually ships while the code fix waits on engineers.

Most of 19 audited MCP servers keep their context-injection surfaces out of the docs

A census scored 19 widely deployed servers on three disclosure questions drawn from the MCP spec, and the most common answer in every column was undocumented. That is the position agent teams are reviewing from.

AI writes the Dockerfile, and the pipeline is still checking the app code

Two 2026 studies put AI-generated deployment infrastructure at worse than a coin flip, and the gates most CI pipelines run were built for application source, not config.

Red Hat's hardened images now scan in AWS native tooling. Note what ECR Basic looks at

Support is live in the InspectorScan API and ECR Basic scanning, according to Red Hat. The registry scanner covers operating system packages, which is most of what a distroless image no longer has.

Two Artifactory flaws poisoned metadata, not artifacts, and that was enough to break a shared cache

Oligo Security says a 32-bit cache key and a trusted .jfrog/ directory let low-privileged users serve other people a poisoned index. JFrog has patched both.
