React Native Skia v3 moves its renderer to Graphite on Dawn under a new package name

React Native Skia v3 renders through Skia's Graphite backend on Dawn and raises the minimums to Android API 26 and iOS 15.1. Graphite does not run on tvOS, Android TV or Mac Catalyst, so apps that target them stay on the maintained v2 line.

A shader language server fetches glslang so the editor's errors match a real compiler

A developer hit no diagnostics in Zed and WebGL-era false errors in VS Code, then wrote a Rust language server that hands each shader to glslang. The diagnostics inherit whatever glslang build it fetches.

A backend that detects the AMD GPU can still leave operations on the CPU

ROCm sits under PyTorch, vLLM and SGLang; Vulkan is what llama.cpp-class engines compile shaders against. The engine you already run narrows the choice to one, and the rest of the work is reading logs.

An H100's MIG slices hand Chromium's WebGL straight back to the CPU rasteriser

NVIDIA documents MIG as compute-only, so headless Chromium inside an H100 slice opens no GPU context at all and quietly falls back to CPU rasterising, which surfaces as a frame rate problem rather than a missing driver.

FFmpegKit Extended's jump to FFmpeg 9.0.1 is an ABI break with features attached

Six of FFmpeg's core libraries take new major versions in one step. Teams shipping native code or pinned shared libraries next to the wrapper are planning a rebuild, not reading a changelog.

Wayland Will Not Hand You The Screen, And That Is The Feature

Unattended remote access to a Linux desktop is no longer an install step. On Wayland it is a decision about display managers, greeters and which desktop stack you are willing to run.
