Passkeys trade portability for phishing resistance by keeping the private key on the device

FIDO's export format for passkeys has only begun shipping in iOS 26 and Android, with the FIDO Alliance counting 5 billion passkeys in use. The key that makes them phishing-resistant cannot be copied off the device, so adopters need a plan for lost devices and changed managers.

Laravel's passkeys packages handle WebAuthn on the server and in the browser

Laravel's two first-party passkeys packages, laravel/passkeys and @laravel/passkeys, run WebAuthn registration and login, according to a dev.to tutorial. The tutorial's own config leaves password reset switched on, so adopting the stack adds passkeys next to passwords.

BigBear 2.0 breaks WebAuthn in the browser to force a relayable MFA fallback

CloudSEK says the kit's JavaScript disrupts FIDO2 on a cloned Microsoft 365 login and steers the victim to TOTP, SMS or push, so the tenant's authentication strength policy decides whether the relay works.

SpecterOps shows malware getting valid passkey assertions out of Windows itself

BleepingComputer counts at least 39 published passkey attack methods. Most of the ones it names need code on the endpoint or control of a sync account first, and that is where the defensive work actually lands.

Pass-ta-key breaks Chrome's device trust, not WebAuthn: harden the endpoint, keep the rollout

Unit 42's three techniques all assume malware is already running on the box. That makes this an endpoint and browser-profile problem, not a reason to stall a passkey deployment.
