Listed 128GB RTX Spark laptops start at $5,109, nearly twice the $2,599 entry model
Nvidia's RTX Spark laptops ship October 16 from $2,599, while 128GB configurations from HP and Asus list at $5,109 to $6,999.99, Tom's Hardware reported. Teams buying for local models will have to order that capacity from maker web stores and check every listing for core counts.

What happened
- Asus sells the 16-inch ProArt P16 from its own web store at $4,499.99 with 64GB of unified memory.
- Listings call both parts "RTX Spark N1X", so buyers have to read each product description to find the core counts.
- Microsoft sells the Surface Laptop Ultra with up to 128GB directly, while B&H appears to carry only lower-memory configurations and may ship later.
- Most RTX Spark configurations, the Surface Laptop Ultra among them, top out at 1TB of storage.
Why it matters
- What it costs cost Choosing HP over Asus at 128GB saves $1,890.99 a seat for teams that can work with 1TB of storage instead of 2TB.
- What it limits constraint Fleets standardised on Dell or Lenovo are held to Best Buy's 64GB ceiling at launch, so getting 128GB means switching maker or waiting.
- Who has to decide decision Purchase orders have to name CPU and GPU core counts, because the memory tier alone does not reliably tell a buyer which chip ships.

RTX Spark puts up to 128GB of unified memory into Windows laptops from six makersConfirmed3 publishers
HP's 14-inch OmniBook X is the cheapest 128GB machine with a published price in Tom's Hardware's roundup. At $5,109 it costs 1.97 times the $2,599 entry model, an Asus ProArt P14 with 24GB [11][17][10].
On the Asus side, going from 64GB to 128GB on the ProArt P16 costs $2,500 [23]. The 128GB unit ships with 2TB of storage [2]. So $2,500 is the most Asus can be charging for the extra 64GB of memory [25].
The cut chip gives up 1,024 of the full part's 6,144 GPU cores, about 17 percent, and two of its 20 CPU cores [12]. Tom's Hardware has seen it only in 24GB and 32GB machines, and every listing at 48GB or above has the full chip [6]. On that observation, Best Buy's top listing, the 48GB Surface Laptop Ultra at $3,999, carries the full chip [17][6]. HP breaks the pattern. Its 32GB configuration gets the 5,120-core GPU, and its other configurations, 24GB among them, get all 6,144 cores [20][24]. It is the rare spec sheet where the smaller memory option has the bigger GPU. Jake Roach, Tom's Hardware's senior CPU analyst, wrote: "Pay close attention to which you are pre-ordering." [14]
I'd plan a local-model budget on capacity first, because capacity is what moves these prices [17][18][2]. Whether $5,109 buys enough machine depends on two conditions. The team's models have to fit in 128GB, and 6,144 Blackwell cores have to run them fast enough [20]. The listings Tom's Hardware compiled cover capacity, core counts, storage and price. They do not include memory bandwidth or model throughput.
What to watch
- Microsoft's direct price for the 128GB Surface Laptop Ultra, the one 128GB option whose price has not been reported.
- Whether Dell and Lenovo open direct listings with 128GB configurations after the October 16 ship date.
- Memory capacities and prices for the small form factor RTX Spark desktops due after launch.

Nvidia RTX Spark devices ship on Friday, October 16; pre-orders from Asus, Microsoft, Lenovo, HP and Dell are live, including the new Surface Laptop Ultra.
- [2]
The Asus ProArt P16 with 128GB of unified memory costs $6,999.99 with 2TB of storage.
- [3]
All RTX Spark devices sold through Best Buy are expected to ship on the October 16 release date.
- [4]
RTX Spark is a range of two chips: the full chip has a 20-core Grace CPU and 6,144-core Blackwell GPU; a lower-end configuration has an 18-core Grace CPU and 5,120-core Blackwell GPU.
- [5]
Additional RTX Spark devices will be available post-launch, including small form factor desktops.
- [6]
In the pre-orders available, Tom's Hardware has only seen the 18-core CPU/5,120-core GPU version in laptops with 24GB or 32GB; listings with 48GB or above have the full chip.
- [7]
Best Buy's RTX Spark pre-orders top out at 64GB of unified memory; buyers wanting 128GB have to shop elsewhere.
- [8]
Dell and Lenovo do not have RTX Spark devices available directly yet, so the only pre-order options for them are at Best Buy.
- [9]
RTX Spark storage configurations come in 512GB, 1TB and 2TB, though the vast majority of devices top out at 1TB, including the Surface Laptop Ultra.
- [10]
The cheapest 128GB RTX Spark laptop with a published price (HP OmniBook X, $5,109) costs about 1.97 times the $2,599 entry model.
- [11]
At 128GB, the HP OmniBook X costs $5,109 and the OmniBook Ultra $5,309, both with 1TB of storage.
- [12]
The cut RTX Spark chip has 1,024 fewer GPU cores than the full chip, about 17 percent fewer, and two fewer CPU cores.
- [13]
Listings call the chip simply "RTX Spark N1X", and buyers have to read the description to confirm CPU and GPU core counts.
- [14]
"Pay close attention to which you are pre-ordering."
- [15]
The 128GB HP OmniBook X costs $1,890.99 less than the 128GB Asus ProArt P16, which carries 2TB of storage against HP's 1TB.
- [16]
Buyers of Dell or Lenovo RTX Spark laptops cannot pre-order more than 64GB at launch.
- [17]
Best Buy's RTX Spark lineup ranges from the Asus ProArt P14 with 24GB of memory for $2,599 up to the Surface Laptop Ultra with 48GB of memory for $3,999.
- [18]
Asus sells the 16-inch ProArt P16 with 64GB or 128GB of unified memory from its web store, starting at $4,499.99 for the 64GB configuration.
- [19]
HP's OmniBook X (14-inch) and OmniBook Ultra (16-inch) support up to 128GB of unified memory, along with 64GB, 48GB, 32GB and 24GB.
- [20]
On both HP laptops, the 32GB configuration gets a smaller 5,120-core GPU; all other configurations get the full 6,144-core GPU.
- [21]
The Surface Laptop Ultra is available with up to 128GB directly from Microsoft.
- [22]
The Surface Laptop Ultra is also available from B&H, but configurations with more memory appear exclusive to first-party sources, which Tom's Hardware said might mean B&H ships later.
- [23]
Moving the Asus ProArt P16 from 64GB to 128GB raises the price by $2,500.
- [24]
HP's 24GB RTX Spark configuration gets the full 6,144-core GPU while its 32GB configuration gets the 5,120-core GPU.
- [25]
Because the 128GB ProArt P16 price includes 2TB of storage, $2,500 is an upper bound on what Asus charges for the extra 64GB of memory.
